The University of Diyala is a prominent Iraqi institution of higher learning in Baquba, Diyala Governorate, Iraq. It was founded in 1999. Also, it is recognized as UoD.

About the University of Diyala

On September 18, 1999, this university came into being in Baquba. This university is an average-sized university after the accomplishment of all its service facilities. It is seen as the most significant Scientific & Cultural center in the governorate.

This university was established to fulfill the urgent need of the foundation of the Scientific Center to sponge up the student stimulus flow to Baghdad universities. This university was founded after the foundation of the Colleges of Basic Education, Engineering, and Education. The purpose of this university is to promote Scientific and Cultural progress and oblige the rising numbers of students.

Also, it provides accommodation to students coming from Neighboring Governorates, far-away governorates, and Arab students. Further, the significance of Baquba as a development center for Baghdad has made it a central point of the Commercial and Population division which is obligatory for the founding of a Scientific and Academic center that fulfills the requirements of future expansion.

On September 20, 1999, the University Council was created with the government of the University establishment. It is related to the President of the University and led by a staff member who is recognized as the Secretary of the University Council and who provides discussions, studies, and views on the different matters related to the University council. The university library is among the Cultural Facilities that play an important role in civilizing the university level throughout the expansion of Scientific Research. It relies on the expansions known through their functions and their work.

Primarily, the library is to protect intellectual invention and put it at the clearance of Researchers and Beneficiaries for their level of Education. It has become a lively, renewable cell a and special center for information in the university.

Central Library:

In 1999, the Central Library was formed at this university. It is looking forward to the implementation of the immense project of the new building of the Central Library.

The president of the university was eager to achieve this project in record time where comprising 4 massive floors. It is possible to provide any kind of Information and Research services to beneficiaries and researchers after its completion.

College of Science

At this university, the College of Science is considered the scientific platform. In 2001, this college was formed as part of the development that occurred at the university college’s aim is to provide systematic and virtually notable infrastructure to encourage the associationthe Scientific Research. It encourages inventive researchers to be extremely proficient in the performance of their Scientific & Professional mission.

College of Medicine

In 2002, this college came into being. It was the first college in the province of Diyala that dealt with Health features. It has become the most important landmark in the province of Diyala.

This college started to accept students in the years 2003 and 2004 when almost 30 of the students were accepted. Nowadays, this university struggles continuously in the field of Medicine to face the upcoming challenges.
