History of Paris-Saclay University

This university was founded in 2015 as a university community and as a university in 2019. It was established to become a Top Ranking Research focused French University. This university was formed after the fusion of 4 Technical Grand Schools as well as several Technological Institutes, Engineering Schools & Research Facilities.

Establishment

Earlier, this university was founded as the University of Paris in 1150. In 1956, it succeeded the University of Paris in Orsay. Later, it became Paris-Sud University in 1971. In 2014, it was established as a community.
