History of the Orebro University

Uppsala University was founded a branch in Orebro in 1967. In 1977, this university was founded as Orebro University College after the merger of the Uppsala University branch in Orebro, Preschool Teaching Seminary, College of Physical Education & Sport Science, and the College of Social Sciences. This University College achieved the status of the University by the Government of Sweden in 1999.

Orebro University Hospital

It is a university hospital in Orebro, Sweden. Earlier, it was known as the Orebro Regional Hospital. In 2000, this hospital took its present name. It is a public care system. It is operated by the Orebro County Council.

The County Council has tried a lot to form a Government Funded Medical School in cooperation with the hospital. This university was given the rights of the Medical Degrees on March 30, 2021, making it the 7th Medical School in Sweden.
