King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals is a public institution of higher education in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. This university was established in 1963. The Motto of this university in English is Say, We Dream and Accomplish. It is also known as KFUPM.
About King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals
This university is a leading university in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and North Africa regions. In 1963, this university was founded by a Saudi Royal Decree as the College of Petroleum and Minerals to provide high-level education in the academic fields of petroleum and minerals which are the two of the most valuable natural resources in Saudi Arabia.
In 1964, the first students were admitted was then named the College of Petroleum and Minerals. The original campus was designed by CRS Design Associates, Architects & Engineers of Houston, Texas. In 1975, this college was eminent to university status when it extended its academic offerings in Science, Engineering, Technology, Business, and Management.
The program of Industrial and Systems Engineering was first introduced in 1984. In 1986, the university was renamed after King Fahd in 1986. Enrollment has grown to 10,000 students according to the 2021 academic year since that time. Since its inception, it has graduated more than 39,000 students.
The university put in place a transformation plan whose main goal is to support the transformation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from a Natural Resource monetizing economy focused on oil and gas resources into a diversified knowledge economy to position the Kingdom as an active contributor to the New Global Digital Economy in 2019.

- Having a Score of more than 1350 on Scholastic Aptitude Test

- The grade Point Average should be 3.0 or higher out of 4.00 or Equivalent for Scholarship Applicants
- GPA should be 2.50 or higher out of 4.00 or Equivalent for Non- Scholarship Applicants

Innovative Learning at King Fahd University
Almost 35 of the Undergraduate Programs were revised to meet the demands of the job market by involving the study of Modern Programming Languages, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Business, and Entrepreneurship.
Every discipline starts with Artificial Intelligence and then branches into specific fields. This prepares the students with a common language which is based on Artificial Intelligence satisfying the needs of highly skilled work requirements in this discipline.
This will convert the academic delivery from Classical Lecturing which can lead to the least maintenance by students into more student engagement and participation during class.
Accreditation
All programs of the Engineering Colleges of this university were evaluated for Substantial Equivalency credit by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. They were created substantially equivalent to similar accredited programs in the United States.
All Business and Management-related programs offered by this university Business School are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. This university is a member of AACSB since 1975. It is among the few schools outside the United States to get this high-status recognition.
