Hansraj College is one of the most prominent and constituent colleges in Delhi, India. It was established in 1948. In the English language, its motto is From darkness, lead me to the light. This college is also recognized as HRC or Hansraj.
Establishment of the Hansraj College
On July 26, 1948, HRC was formed in remembrance of the well-known Indian Nationalist and Educator Mahatma Hansraj. Primarily, this college began as an institution only for men. In 1978, it became a co-educational institution.

HRCF aims to highlight the significance of Knowledge in this modern world. HRC has highly qualified staff who convey knowledge to almost 5,000 students in the fields of Science, Commerce, and Arts. Library at Hansraj College
This college has the biggest, Air conditioned, and well-resourced library on the north campus of the University of Delhi. The college library is at the center of the campus. It is equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity.
It has a collection of almost 1, 37,000 Books, 23 Newspaper varieties, and 98 Journals & Magazines. This library has two floors. The ground floor comprises of Librarian Room, Membership Section, Periodical Section, Reference Section, and Reading & Recording Room.
The Science block is on the ground floor with a reading room facility. Its 1st floor consists of the Technical section, Book Bank section, E-Resource Room, Reference section, and Faculty Room. The Arts and Commerce Block is to be found on the first floor.

This college has several Science courses. All of the laboratories are well equipped with the most modern equipment and machinery to facilitate students to take on experiments with high accuracy.

Medical Facilities
This college does not spare any effort in ensuring the welfare of the students. Also, it provides medical assistance to the students and the staff in case of emergencies injuries, or accidents.
The medical facilities provide at this college include Bed Cum stretchers and all of the medicines that can need in case of illness or emergency. This college has a well-trained and experienced medical staff.
Also, it has a specialist doctor selected by the college for providing medical aid. It has made the essential arrangements with Hindu Rao Hospital which is 500m from the college’s main gate.
Canteen
HRC has a canteen that spreads over an area of almost 375 meters. It accommodates around 200 people. This canteen has a vast variety of menu at affordable prices without any compromises on the quality of the food.
It provides a lively ambiance for the students, staff members, and visitors. A new project known as Shakes and More is formed on the campus to offer a wide variety of food and beverages.

Hans which is the magazine of this college has served as a platform for the Students, Faculty, and Staff to show their huge fictional talent and express their thoughts and feelings about their perspectives on the world.
Also, it has provided a workbench for students and faculty staff to interrelate with each other beyond the classroom and regular curriculum.
Hostel at Hansraj College
The hostel at this college has a spacious campus with almost 128 furnished rooms and well well-decorated dining hall, common room, kitchen, and gymnasium.
Also, it has well well-furnished guest room and visitor room. This hostel accommodates almost 200 Undergraduate male students. This hostel is facilitated with a Generator, Wi-Fi connection, and CCTV cameras.
Seminar Room
This college has 2 seminar rooms. Each of them has a seating capability of almost 100 people. Old Seminar Room is in the C-Block of this college while the New Seminar Room is below the canteen. It is a perfect place for all of the important events, discussions, special lectures, discussions, meetings, and conferences.
Scholarship at Hansraj College
At this college, financial aid and support are provided to the Graduate and Postgraduate students in the form of a Special Academic Prize that is based on the academic performance of the students.
Also, HRC has the facility to give fee concessions from 50% to 100% with merit and need-based scholarships. Also at this college, scholarships are provided by a range of Government Schemes and Non-Government Agencies.
