This university is the most significant pillar of Higher Learning and Scientific Research not only in the city of Mosul but also in Iraq. This university belongs to the Republic System of Higher Education and Scientific Research relating to all Rules, Laws, and Instructions with its Scientific & Cultural activities.

Its steps are based on reflected plans to be an inspiration that illumines the path of Science & Education.  This university launched its new website in an advanced form with specifications that allow the world to see its ongoing arrogant and prominent march.

Medical College

This college of the university is in the Medical Township which comprises the Teaching Hospitals in Al Shifaa Court in Mosul City in Iraq. College of Medicine was the initial recognized college established. Initially, it was affiliated with the Department of Health and then with the University of Baghdad.

With the organization of the University of Mosul, this college became a part of this university. The undergraduate program in the Medical College is 6 years. Its language of instruction is English. The Medical College has round about 142 staff.

Sports and Athletic Facilities

This university has several Athletic Facilities including the College of Physical Education, a versatile arena, and a house for the Mosul basketball teams. Also, it serves Primary Recreation Facility and as a satellite location for several varsity sports at the university.

The college has Cardio Rooms, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a Mezzanine where classes are held, an Indoor Cycling Studio, Weight Rooms, and a Gym floor for basketball. Also, the college holds sports such as Volleyball, Fencing and Wrestling. The offices of the fields of Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, and Softball for women and Soccer for men are also in the college.

Central Library at the University of Mosul

At this university, the Central Library is the major source of information. This library was plundered, ruined, and destroyed by fire when the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant occupied Mosul. It lost thousands of Books, Periodicals, Magazines, and Rare Documents.

This library began its library services to the students and researchers after the freedom. This library introduced an Electronic Cataloguing System. This university started managing several Cultural & Scientific activities, Courses, Events, and Workshops. This library is situated in the center of the campus of the university. It is comprised of the following sections:

  • Circulation Section
  • Multimedia Section

Student Center

The Student Center at this university is a 2 story building that is next to the Central Library. It welcomes students and others. It offers Meals, Drinks, and other services to them.

Furthermore, it has a Museum of Fine Arts, Studio, Directorate of Student Affairs, and University Hospital. It is reformed in the renovation campaign to a wonderful set-up and front with Recreational Parks that are used for Scientific & Artistic activities.

Green Zones

This university pursues to enlarge greeneries for a Natural Welfare Atmosphere and Environment in addition to the brilliant and beautiful outlook.

This university decorates its several colleges and buildings with 5,800 green square meters. Also, it is to fulfill the requirements of the International Education Quality.

University Grand Theatre

This theatre is one of the biggest theaters in the Middle East. This theatre has a capacity of almost 1000 to 1500 observers. It holds the Activities, Events, and Festivals of the university and the activities of other institutions. It is replaced after being brutally damaged and burned to a new fashionable set-up.
