The University of Duhok is a well-known public university in Duhok, Iraq. This university came into being in 1992. It is also known as UoD. The objective of this university operate locally and think globally.
History of the University of Duhok
On October 31st, 1992 this university was established by following a decree by the Kurdistan Parliament to talk about the growing demand for higher education in the region. UoD was founded primarily by two colleges which are the College of Medicine and the College of Agriculture.
The College of Medicine began with almost 48 students and the College of Agriculture with approximately 166 students. The two prohibitions inflicted by the United Nations on Iraq and by the Iraqi Central Government on Kurdistan contributed to the sluggish development of the university and the deprived financial circumstances in Kurdistan. This university found itself in a position to turn towards development and improvement after facing these hardships.

Computing Facilities at the University of Duhok
This university has invested considerably in computing facilities to make sure that all of its students have the approach to Information systems over the past few years. These services offered by this university provide a vast range of facilities to both Graduate and Undergraduate students.

The Student Union is a team at this university that plays a fundamental role in university life. It allows students to partake in a representatively chosen setting. Every year, Elections are held to recommend students to represent their Schools, Departments, Classes, and Student Associations on the College Board.
These student groups exist in every school as a committee selected by the students of that school. This group has its room in the school building. Student Committees are managed by students separately from the school teaching staff. The task of these committees is to stand for the students inside and outside the school.
Cultural and Social Center
In 1992, this center came into being. It started its career as a permanent communication among the communities of the university and society. This center has aims, responsibilities, and personal vision which are considered in the activities and events of the center.
It involves the sections of Administration, Media & Activities, University Radio, Sports Hall, Driving Teaching Course, Maintenance, and Stores. The center is situated on a hill in the city of Dohuk. It comprises of:
