Cornell University is a private institute of higher education in Ithaca, New York. It is an Ivy Grant research university. This university was established in 1865. The founder of this university was Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White. It has been a coeducational and non-sectarian institution since its founding.
Cornell University History
It was established after the New York legislature approved the university as the state land grant institution. During the first three years of the university, White oversaw the structure of the first two buildings and traveled to attract students and faculty. In October 1868, this university was initiated.
Cornell University was founded as a technologically innovative institution. It applied its research to its own campus. It was one of the universities which used electricity from a water-powered dynamo to light the campus grounds. Cornell is the house of the Cornell University Press established in 1869.
This university was also home to many literary societies in the 19th century which was founded to motivate writing oration and reading skills. The university has been increasing its international programs since 2000. It opened the Weill Cornell Medical College in 2004 in Qatar. This university has partnerships with Singapore, India, and People’s Republic of China institutions. According to the year 2023, this university offers more than 4,000 courses.

The architectural styles of North Campus are more advanced and modern. It reflects the growth of the university and the need for additional housing.
West Campus
Its House System showcases a merge of architectural styles with five main residence halls and several Gothic-style buildings communally known as The Gothic. These idealistic Gothic structures add a sense of historical charm to the campus. Moreover, the advanced residence halls provide comfortable residences for students.
